Scientifically Proven Ways To Boost Happiness In Life

Thanks to the fast paced era in which we live, we have forgotten to take notice of the small things in life which matter the most.  When was the last time you stared at a beautiful flower? When was the last time you did something new?

Find out about some scientifically proven ways which can inject happiness in your life:

1. Write down what you are thankful for

There are so many good things that happen in life every day and go unnoticed. The sole reason behind that being that we are too busy expecting big things to happen that bring moments of big joy. When we start counting the little blessings of our life, we come to realize how much we have in life to be thankful for.

Make a list every day for things you are grateful for. Put a number on it. Say 3? Ensure that you pen down those things each day and you will slowly begin to notice a drastic change in your behavior.

2. Spend time outside

Home to work and work to home is what life sounds like from Monday to Friday. Come weekend and most of us like to curl up in bed either with our nose buried under a good book or watching a movie. While there’s nothing wrong in that, you should surely go outside and spend some time.

Some things like fresh air and sunshine are really unbeatable. You can even indulge in your favorite sports activity by buying sports equipment, with your friends. Research reveals that the level of your stress hormones decreases when you spend time outside.

3. Set goals

There should be something in your life for which you look forward to each day. It is vital that to set short-term as well as long-term goals in life to succeed and not end up wasting time.

When you set goals for yourself on a weekly/monthly basis, you make sure to avoid distractions (which also include negative behavior and situations) in order to attain them. Once you achieve those goals, it feels like a victory and of course, amazing! You also become more self-aware and productive.

4. Cheer up others

What usually happens after many tiring and long days of work is that you feel like giving a treat to yourself by shopping. However this kind of happiness is short-term.

One of the best ways to feel happy is by cheering others. The next time you feel like spending money on yourself, stop that and instead spend money on others. Visit an orphanage or an old home, buy gifts for them and spend time with them. The joy you will feel from within will be unmatched.

6. Write down your feelings

Maintaining a personal diary can go a long way in uplifting your mood as well as in helping you being in touch with yourself. You need not write about your feelings every day. Just write on days when you feel mentally drained.
